Puppet Island is a Toronto-based character studio that turns brands into personalities people fall in love with. We design, build, voice, and perform original characters for advertising, social media, television, and live experiences. We create ownable brand identities that captivate audiences- from handcrafted puppets to costumes, creatures, and their personalities, every character is created to feel alive, memorable, and built for story telling in modern media.
Run by Jamie Shannon, co-creator of Nanalan' and Mr. Meaty, two-time Gemini Award winner, and the puppeteer behind characters for Disney, the BBC, CBC, Nickelodeon, PBS, and brands including Frito-Lay's Smartfood, Jansport and Nestlé. Other stops along the way: Music videos for SIA and Kid Rock, projects with Matty Matheson, Spike Jonze and Heather Henson, and puppeteering Ollie for Netflix's Lost Ollie.
